I've added delica beads to the bobbins I bought from LatheAbout. Mark Teeboon is the specialist woodturner from New Zealand. He was a vendor at OIDFA in Ljubljana, Slovenia in June.

  • South Australian Jacaranda Mimosifolia: Several friends have recognized the name Jacaranda and are familiar with the tree. It is called fern tree.
  • Puriri (Vitex Lucens) is an evergreen tree from New Zealand.

  •  12,000 year old swamp swamp kauri from the Takanini swamp in the north island of New Zealand where logs have been buried and preserved in peat.

Mark's wife Cherie had beaded sample bobbins to show how the bobbins could be embellished.  They priced the samples high so that they would not sell and Cherie could keep them.  But the samples sold like hot cakes!  I was happy to purchase the bobbins and add beads from my stash.  I did the beading at meetings of the Embroiderers' Guild and at the national exhibit.
